Biography
Cathy is a Partner with The Lancer Group and has a decade of experience placing top executives into private equity-backed and public companies. Since joining the firm she has been instrumental in rapidly scaling The Lancer Group’s Consumer and Digital Practices. Cathy advises private equity partners, CEOs and board leaders of portfolio companies on critical hiring and talent assessment decisions.
Her search expertise includes CEO, Board, Operating Partner, CMO, and Digital Leadership placements. Cathy has significant experience and a continued deep interest in service delivery excellence (her business school coursework included an analysis of Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipients), and has helped shape the firm’s proprietary service delivery model, which is attuned to the unique needs of private equity clients and their portfolio companies. Prior to joining The Lancer Group, Cathy spent seven years with a larger executive search firm where she placed executives into Fortune 500 and private equity-backed companies.
Cathy brings to her search practice a deep understanding and appreciation of the organizational development demands and executive talent needs of a rapidly scaling company. She was a member of the pre-launch team at The New York Times Digital as well as the pre-launch team at FairMarket, Inc., an e-commerce technology company that went through an initial public offering and was later acquired by eBay. In this role she developed and executed high-profile online promotions on behalf of the company's media and consumer-focused clients: New Line Cinema, WWF, Major League Baseball, Playboy, Miller Brewing Company, and The New York Times. Cathy was the sixth employee hired by Bluebeam Software, a software solutions provider focused on the engineering and design industry. Bluebeam Software was acquired by European CAD software leader, Nemetchek.
Cathy has worked with clients in the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, UK, Germany, Sweden, Israel, and India. She holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BA in History from Dartmouth College.
