CHRISTY FINAZZO is a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience as a school social worker. In 2014, she returned to her alma mater as an adjunct lecturer, teaching integrative seminar courses and serving as a faculty field liaison.
Finazzo holds a Pupil Personnel Services Credential and currently works as a psychiatric social worker for the Los Angeles Unified School District. She has worked with children and families in elementary and secondary schools as well as in school mental health clinics. She has also served on the district crisis team and coordinated crisis team services at her school site. Prior to her 15 years at LAUSD, Finazzo was a psychiatric social worker and dual diagnosis specialist for the LA County Department of Mental Health. During this time, she earned her certificate in Dual Diagnosis Treatment at UCLA Extension.
She received a bachelor’s degree with highest honors in psychology and a minor in rhetoric and communication from the University of California, Davis. She has a master’s degree in social work from USC.
