CJ graduated with honours from the McMaster Midwifery Education Program in 2016. She was born in Nova Scotia, Canada and raised in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. She now spend time in both Ontario and Nova Scotia.
As part of her training she completed placements in Toronto, Hamilton, Nova Scotia and Doesburn, Netherlands. She believes that the philosophy of midwifery care strongly supports clients, families and communities to be actively involved in all aspects of care and in this way midwives are able to navigate and combat systems of oppression during a time of intense transformation.
CJ is Chair of the Canadian Association of Midwives National Advisory Board on Gender Equity and Diversity, co-founder of a national Queer Caucus of Canadian Midwives, and a member of the Midwifery Advisory Committee at BORN Ontario.
