Biography
CJ (she/they) graduated with honours from the McMaster Midwifery Education Program in 2016. She was born in Nova Scotia, Canada and raised in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
As part of her training she completed placements in Toronto, Hamilton, Nova Scotia and Doesburg, Netherlands. She believes that the philosophy of midwifery care strongly supports clients, families and communities to be actively involved in all aspects of care and in this way midwives are able to navigate and combat systems of oppression during a time of intense transformation.
CJ is President of the Association of Nova Scotia Midwives and a co-chair of the Canadian Caucus of Queer and Trans Midwives.
