Biography
Dr. Soriano's research has focused on the analysis of dynamics of circulation of information, social networks, and political mobilization in Venezuela and the Spanish Caribbean during the Age of the Revolutions (1780-1830). Her newest project explores the history of Trinidad and the ways inter-imperial dynamics in the 19th century affected the lives of the people on the Island. Dr. Soriano can also discuss how people can deal with and access the media in Venezuela, her home country, through all of the turmoil. Additional research interests include the Atlantic World, the Spanish Caribbean and historical anthropology, cultural and social history.
