Biography

I received my Bachelors Degree in Social Welfare from the University of California at Berkeley and my Doctorate from Hastings College of Law in San Francisco. I am the owner of UCL Investigations and have worked in the Criminal Justice field for almost 25 years. Additionally, I am a weekly commentator on HLN's Dr Drew Live Show, and have been a guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show, NBC's Today Show, and countless other network programs. Furthermore, I've been interviewed as an expert on various topics pertaining to proactive parenting, bullying, cyber safety, infidelity and relationship repair for numerous television, radio, newspaper, and Internet pieces.

In terms of educating parents, my keen understanding of the law as it pertains to juveniles, coupled with my extensive experience in investigative techniques while parenting two tech savvy teenagers, has amply prepared me to offer insight and guidance to parents and others struggling to navigate through this new age of cyber intrusion. Additionally, having worked as an investigator in the streets of Oakland for almost 25 years, while raising my young daughter, I am reminded on a daily basis of the importance of instilling confidence, strength and knowledge in our girls. Messages for Joey is a collection of many of the things I feel young girls need to know as they transition into adulthood.

As a media infidelity expert, author and infidelity survivor, I have an intimate connection to issues pertaining to marriage and relationship repair. Consequently, I am able to present a fresh, direct and compassionate approach to recognizing, uncovering and dealing with infidelity. In addition to my book: Ultimate Betrayal, I have published numerous pieces on infidelity detection, affair repair and building and maintaining healthy relationships. I am also the facilitator of an infidelity support group in San Francisco.
