Haas' latest move to address diversity controversy: Hiring inclusion officer

After the number of African-American students who accepted spots at Berkeley Haas dropped, the school took measures to shore up its commitment to diversity. One move was hiring David Porter as Chief Diversity Officer. "You work with applicants even before they’re applicants, trying to help them understand that Haas actually is a very welcoming environment and offers a world-class education, and it’s a good place for people regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation," he said.
