Mobile Revolution - Why Should You Care?
Mobile technologies are revolutionizing the way business travelers, meetings and events attendees, venues and meeting organizers work and play. Travel schedules and updates, city guides and geolocated location-based services, agendas and personalized schedules, gamification and case studies, social networking, rich media and video streaming, RFID, QR codes, augmented reality, and a plethora of other cutting-edge mobile technologies have created an ever-changing and confusing eco-system. From mobile technology patent wars, to multiple platform and operating system choices, to Tablet variations and app stores, through to vendor offerings, buy-outs, partnerships and technology cancellations, who can keep up with what is happening and how it may affect mobile implementation plans and usage? One thing is sure. The mobile revolution and perfect storm we find ourselves in has caused a paradigm shift and a major change in the way we now access data, content and information. Some say it had changed our DNA in this fashion. It has definitely provided a more sustainable approach as compared to bulky paper-based alternatives, better experience overall, improved networking, and new avenues for revenue generation.
