Deb Keen is the Director of Prevention and Research at the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer, located in Toronto, Canada. In her role, she is responsible for large-scale projects focused on the development of evidence-informed prevention programs and policies in provinces and territories. This includes engagement of First Nations, Inuit and M├ętis populations. In addition, Ms. Keen is working to further the implementation of tobacco cessation in the cancer care system in Canada.

Before coming to the Partnership, Ms. Keen was Director of Prevention at Cancer Care Ontario, the cancer agency for the province of Ontario. She also worked in chronic disease prevention in local public health.

Ms. Keen is on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Public Health Association which is focused on the development of a strong public health work force for the province, and is also a member of the Cancer Care Ontario Prevention Advisory Committee. She has worked in program and policy development at the municipal, provincial and national level with significant experience in tobacco control including municipal bylaw development. Through her tobacco control work, she has been the recipient of a number of international and national communications awards including: the International Business Association's Gold Quill Award, the International Association of Business Communicators' Ovation Award, the Crystal Award for Radio Marketing Bureau, and the Hygeia Award for Health Care Public Relations Association.
