Debra Berl joined the adjunct faculty at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work’s Virtual Academic Center in 2012.
A licensed clinical social worker, she has been an active clinician working directly with clients since 1991. For more than 10 years, she served as a therapist and case manager specializing in clients impacted by HIV. Other areas of specialty include perinatal social work, addictions, crisis intervention, and death and dying. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology. She earned her master’s degree in social work from San Diego State University.
