How do people use health information, and when does this matter for health and social equity?

Biography

I'm a postdoctoral researcher at BC Children's Hospital, studying the role of information in vaccine hesitancy and acceptance regarding childhood and prenatal vaccinations.

I study the ways youth and parents make health decisions, and how public health providers and clinicians try to influence those decisions. My doctoral research focused on young ("teen") parents.

I also study the ways people collect and share health information in the digital era, and what this means for how we live.

My background is eclectic, encompassing health services research, librarianship, youth services, community anti-violence work, social justice education, and preschool teaching. In addition to my health research, I teach gender studies at Capilano University.
