Biography

I currently teach engineering and computer programming at Village Home Education Resource Center for K-12 students. I also teach an engineering and computer science orientation at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington.

My most recent work has included product management, curriculum development and STEM professional development (PD), as well as strategic partnership development with STEM curriculum providers such as LEGO Education, USA Today, Disney Education, and NASA Education. I have worked with schools and districts in 18 states, to contribute to school-wide and district-wide STEM initiatives, through long-term strategic planning, funding advice, and implementation support.

I am a frequent speaker on topics related to the policy and practice of STEM education, as well as recruiting and retaining underrepresented population - minorities and females - in STEM fields. I've delivered presentations to the National Science Teacher's Association (NSTA), American Association of University Women (AAUW), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and the Northwest Council for Computers in Education (NCCE).

I currently write a blog about STEM Education, Educate to Innovate with STEM and maintain information about the classes I teach at AuthenticSTEM.
