Biography

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Dionne Wright Poulton is a certified K-12 teacher and Diversity and Inclusion Consultant with 15 years of experience specializing in the psychosocial dynamics of race, intercultural dialogue and effective adult behavior. A graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned a Ph.D. in Adult Education, Dr. Poulton’s dissertation was based on a professional development workshop she created in 2004 called Think You Are An Unbiased Teacher? Think Again!

Dr. Poulton is also author of the new book It’s Not Always Racist… but Sometimes It Is – which is an extension of her PhD research, in addition to her experiences as an educator and professional trainer of employees in diverse academic and business environments.

Dr. Poulton is Owner of Poulton Consulting Group, LLC, a company that provides research-based employee training, education and crisis management to all types of businesses, organizations and educational institutions in the area of diversity and inclusion.

Dr. Dionne Wright Poulton earned her doctorate in adult education at the University of Georgia where she researched the racial biases and attitudes of teachers. Her work was inspired by her own past experiences as a high school teacher and university instructor.
