Biography

Dorothy Agger-Gupta, PhD, is an experienced professor, administrator, and admissions coordinator at Fielding Graduate University. In addition to being a doctoral faculty member in the Human and Organizational Development Program (HOD), she has served as an Admissions Coordinator, Program Director, Associate Dean, a faculty member of Fielding’s Board of Trustees, and Fielding’s Dean for Academic Affairs.

Dr. Agger-Gupta is HOD admissions coordinator, in addition to serving as a doctoral professor for Human Development (HD) and Organizational Development and Change (ODC) doctoral students. She in engaged in several Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives at Fielding and is a member of ILA, the International Leadership Association where she co-chairs the Arts & Leadership community. She publishes and presents at conferences on issues of ethics, social responsibility, AI and Media, art and creativity, gendered identities, women’s leadership, and education.

Dr. Agger-Gupta’s early career included several years as a professional artist in western MA and as a social worker in Lexington, KY and Tucson, AZ. She then transitioned into the field of computer technology and developed systems for hospitals, mental health consortiums, corporations, and non-profits. Her work included the development of an operating system as writing and illustrating one of Apple’s first user manuals. After receiving her PhD in Management, Dr. Agger-Gupta’s transitioned into an academic career, serving as an assistant professor in Management Science at the University of Massachusetts in Boston, and as a program director in an organization and technology department at the University of San Francisco.

She lives in Victoria, BC Canada with her husband Niels, and travels frequently to the US and Europe In addition to AI and her family, her interests focus on women’s leadership, the re-discovery of the forgotten histories of women artists around the world, and the life-long learning and development of her art.
