A NEW DYNAMIC SERVICE SPAN-BASED ENERGY COMPARISON LEACH FOR ACHIEVING EXPECTED WSNS LIFETIME

To prolong the lifetime of a sensor node in homogeneous wireless sensor networks WSNs current research works including low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy LEACH and its variants, propose clustering techniques for minimising energy consumption. This is primarily achieved by turning deployed nodes into sleeping mode whenever possible. These schemes however, have a number of limitations. To address these issues and to form a more robust enhanced LEACH, this paper proposes a novel dynamic round time-based energy probabilistic LEACH. Simulation results confirm the superior performance of the proposed scheme over the existing LEACH and its variants.

DTS: DYNAMIC TDMA SCHEDULING FOR NETWORKED CONTROL SYSTEMS

Networked Control Systems (NCSs) are pervasively applied in modern industry. With increasing functionalities, modern NCSs tend to have dynamic workload by holding a variety of applications via a shared network. To handle workload variations and provide performance guarantees, dynamic network scheduling scheme is highly desired in NCSs. In this paper, we propose a network scheduling scheme, referred to as DTS, that can make on-the-fly decisions to schedule the applications in NCSs.

A RELAY NODE BASED HYBRID LOW ENERGY ADAPTIVE CLUSTERING HIERARCHY FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS

Due to the necessity of saving energy cost in low-powered devices, extending the lifetime of a sensor node powered by battery in both homogeneous and heterogeneous wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is area of interest. To save battery power in sensor networks, many research works including low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) and its variants use clustering techniques to reduce energy spent by keeping most of the nodes in sleeping mode but making a good quality of service (QoS). However, LEACH lacks on optimizing the network life time due to loosing huge energy of sensor nodes selected as cluster heads for communications. The research work in this paper uses the relay nodes as the cluster heads in addition to LEACH, however uses fixed LEACH (LEACH-F) when all relay node dies, and the round time of fixed LEACH is adjusted dynamically to decrease the probability of premature death of cluster heads.

EXPLOITING VULNERABILITIES AND SECURITY MECHANISMS IN INTERNET BASED SMS CAPABLE CELLULAR NETWORK

Cellular networks are a very demandable component of the economic and social infrastructures in which we live. To give various latest technology services Telecommunication companies offer connections between their networks and the Internet. The Next generation Network (NGN) will be associated with the Internet. This leads to the cellular networks become more vulnerable because of some security holes. SMS capable cellular networks can be attacked by means of Spam, Spyware, Phishing, Viruses. Several prevention mechanisms can be applied but not adequate. In this paper these vulnerabilities are exploited and some mechanisms are proposed to alleviate the threats.
