Dr. Garcia-Garcia is an advisor for the Working Group for Clinical Care of the National Plan of Preparation and Response to the Influenza Pandemic of the Secretariat of Health, the National Survey of Tuberculosis Drug Resistance of the Secretariat of Health and the Mexican section of the Committee Stop TB. She reviews articles from several journals such as PLOS, Diabetes Care, Tuberculosis, Clinical Infectious Diseases, among others.
Dr. Garcia-Garcia has been interested in research in infectious diseases particularly tuberculosis and vaccine preventable diseases. In 2015 she co-authored a book on Vaccines for the Ageing Population published by the Mexican Academy of Medicine.
She has published more than 100 research articles, 5 books, and 44 book chapters. She has taught several courses at postgraduate level and directed 23 Specialty, Masters and Doctoral theses at the National Institute of Public Health since 1995 to present.
