Biography

Edward Abramson, Ph.D. is the author of five books including, "Emotional Eating: What You Need to Know Before Starting Your Next Diet." He is a clinical psychologist, Professor Emeritus at California State University and former director of the Eating Disorders Center at Chico Community Hospital. Dr. Abramson has appeared on dozens of TV and radio programs including "20/20", "Hard Copy" and "Joan Rivers".

Dr. Abramson contributes a blog to "Psychology Today's" website. His work has been featured in publications including "The New York Times", "O, The Oprah Magazine", and "Prevention". "Men's Health Magazine" called him "the go-to authority on the 'why' of weight gain." Ed is a fellow of The Obesity Society and gives talks and trainings to professional and lay audiences throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
