Biography
Mr. Steele is a multitalented adviser to corporate and nonprofit organizations providing expertise in the areas of employee relations, general management, policy and marketing. His professional background includes extensive nonprofit management, program start-up and expansion, outcomes evaluation and business development.
He is also responsible for helping veterans and their families transition from military service to civilian life through housing, psychosocial treatment referrals, career counseling, access to vocational education/training, and direct employment placement. He also works with nonprofit boards in the areas of development, governance and strategic planning. As the son of a Vietnam veteran (USAF), EJ has a perspective that lends itself not just to the needs of the veteran, but to the family as a whole as well.
His goal is to help drive businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals forward by providing insight and guidance through speaking engagements, consulting and coaching endeavors – with intelligence that enables personal and corporate brands to better engage their existing or intended audiences.
Education, advocacy, economic self-sufficiency and empowerment are at the core of his commitment to those in need. He has been at the forefront of providing guidance for people in transition for years, previously serving as an Administrative Director at a Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program.
EJ is active in the community; he is a member of the both the Advisory Committee of the Children’s Collective, Inc., and on the Advisory Committee of AVER-GLA.
EJ is a JPMorgan Chase Fellow, and holds certifications in Executive Management/Leadership and Nonprofit Program development from Cornell and Fordham University, respectively. He also holds certifications in Employment Law and Compliance and HIV/AIDS Education.
With over twenty years experience in both for and nonprofit organizations, with a focus in financial, operational and managerial disciplines, EJ brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to bear.
To date, EJ has helped many people gain access to the resources and benefits they deserve and re-engage to both family and community.
