Biography

ELIZABETH MISENER joined the adjunct faculty in 2011 and teaches foundation clinical courses. As a coaching partner with the Kirwin Group, she provides telephone coaching around a wide range of issues, such as relationships, stress management, life-work balance and depression. A trained social worker, she supports individuals on their journey of self-discovery through self-reflection and goal setting. She helps her clients focus on action, and her approach is practical, encouraging and judgment-free.

Misener is on the advisory board of the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, where she offers insight and mental health support to people facing issues with CMT, one of the most commonly inherited neurological disorders. She also runs a support group for community members affected or living with someone who has the disease.

Previously, she was an assistant professor and behavioral science co-coordinator for community medicine at Albany Medical College in New York.
