Biography

A fascinating and engaging speaker whose expertise includes helping organizations become trauma-responsive in how they relate to those they serve, delivering home-spun stories about coping with change, and exploring heady topics fit for the social visionary she is. In the field of consulting, she is recognized for her work in helping people and cultures shift. Power, who hails from western NC and lives in Nashville, is a Vanderbilt graduate who started out as a shoe repairer in Music City. Published in multiple fields, she her most recent works are the 2009 "How to Get Happier--and why you should try to!" and her contribution, Organizational and Programmatic Benefits from Adversity: Comprehending the Centrality of the Role of Adverse Experiences in and on the NPO and Its Programs, to the John Wiley and Sons "Volunteer Management Handbook."
