Erica Davies

Erica Krutu Davies is a Liberian-American founder, author, and media producer who builds institutions for healing and empowerment across the African diaspora. For nearly two decades, she has turned vision into working programs, from farmland in Liberia to public media in Brooklyn.

Her work began in 2007, on her second visit to her family’s homeland of Liberia, where she launched an agricultural project growing palm, cassava, plantain, pears, and mangoes. That visit shaped a larger vision: programs that drive social responsibility through education, healthcare, agriculture, business building, wealth creation, and unity, in Liberia and across the continent.

Erica spent a decade on the ground in Liberia building a school and community programs, including through the Ebola and COVID crises. In 2014 she founded It Takes a Village Africa Corporation (ITAVAC), a Brooklyn-based 501(c)(3). Its flagship programs are the Fresh Start Women’s Empowerment Initiative, the Mobile Empowerment Initiative, and School in a Box. In 2026, ITAVAC secured a Mini-Grant to run Fresh Start Healing Circles for women.

She is the author of The Wound We Inherited (2026), the first title in a series on intergenerational healing in Black families. The book introduces her Inherited Wound Framework and is supported by an online healing portal with assessments and healing circles.

As a certified BRIC Community Producer since 2014, Erica creates The African View, which celebrates African culture and connects Brooklyn with the continent, and Star Sign Social, which explores Western astrology alongside ancestral wisdom from the African diaspora. She is currently producing a feature documentary about her decade in Liberia.

Through EKD Coaching & Training Group, she helps founders and mission-driven leaders move from idea to lasting organization using her signature framework, From Vision to Institution. She brings more than 15 years of experience in real estate, sales, public speaking, training, and coaching to every engagement.

Erica speaks on institution building, intergenerational healing, women’s empowerment, digital equity, and building across Brooklyn and West Africa. She is based in Brooklyn, New York.
