Biography
Erin Weed is an award-winning speaker, author and social entrepreneur. Since 2001, her work in global women's empowerment and social entrepreneurship has been featured on CNN, Fox News, The New York Times and The Washington Post.
She is the creator of Girls Fight Back (GFB), a program experienced by over ONE MILLION people. Through live presentations, GFB inspires and educates women to be their own best protectors. Using a unique blend of comedy, cutting-edge research and practical safety strategies, GFB has inspired hundreds of success stories from women who saved themselves during violent confrontations.
The GFB speaker team embarks on national speaking tours every Fall and Spring. Tour sponsors have included Verizon Wireless, Glamour magazine and Bed Head. In 2010, GFB expanded internationally to India and Pakistan.
Erin was a columnist for CosmoGirl magazine, creating the first-ever recurring column in a national magazine that addressed the topic of girls' self-protection. Her first book, Girls Fight Back! The College Girl's Guide to Protecting Herself, will soon be published in its 3rd edition.
Erin also provides coaching to thought leaders, influencers and entrepreneurs in the art + business of public speaking. She believes anyone can build a profitable platform of influence, and many of her clients are TED or TEDx presenters.
