Dr. Andujo's research focuses on diversity and clinical practice, and creative interventions combined with evidence-based practice models.

Biography

Dr. Andujo teaches clinical theory and practice courses at the Virtual Academic Center. She is currently co-coordinator of VAC’s mental health studies as well as lead instructor for mental health courses and family and children practice courses.

She has more than 25 years of academic and professional experience and has worked as a child psychotherapist, outpatient mental health clinical supervisor and clinical director. Committed to working with diverse populations, she has focused her clinical practice on engaging nonprofit, inner-city mental health agencies.

Andujo draws on her extensive clinical practice skills with children, adolescents and their families and works to integrate theory with clinical practice in her teaching. She utilizes interactive, real-world applications in the classroom, promoting a learning environment that enhances a variety of skills, including critical thinking, clinical awareness and advocacy.

She is a recognized consultant and trainer in child play therapy, law and ethics, group psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and the California licensing exam. Her research interests relate to diversity and clinical practice, and the use of creative interventions in conjunction with evidence-based practice models.
