Renaud-Byrne took a leap of faith and moved back in with his parents to start up Hybrid Power Solutions in 2015. He had the idea to provide industry-grade, smart battery systems after creating the power generation system for a Formula Hybrid race car while he was at Carleton University. The gasoline-andelectric-powered vehicle won Carleton a prestigious collegiate competition.
Battery Pack And Method Of Operation Therefor
A battery pack and methods of operating the same are provided. The battery pack includes a battery, at least one sensor configured to read battery operation data, an external connection port, and a battery management system. The battery management system is coupled to the external and stores machine-executable instructions that, when executed, cause the battery management system to communicate battery operation data collected from the battery to an external load.

The method of electrically powering a high frequency tool with a battery pack having a DC electrical output can include stepping up the battery pack DC electrical output to a high voltage DC output of above 200V; converting the high voltage DC output to 3 phase alternating current; and powering the high frequency tool using the 3 phase alternating current.
