Frederick Lambert

After graduating from Michigan Law School, Professor Lambert clerked for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for Judge Stanley N. Barnes from 1969-1970. From 1970-1971 he served as an Attorney Advisor in Washington, DC, in the Office of Legal Counsel, a Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. He was one of the first Law Clerks for Associate Justice William H. Rehnquist in the 1971 Term of the U.S. Supreme Court.

He was in private practice in Los Angeles in three large law firms from 1973-1990, where in his last firm he chaired the Corporate Department. In 1981, he served as Acting General Counsel in the Itel Corporation Chapter 11 Reorganization in San Francisco. He was an active member of the State and Los Angeles County Bar Associations, serving on both the Executive Committee and the Business Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar, and the Corporations Committee of the State Bar. He is the author of 2012 Business Organization, Reorganization and Introduction to Federal Securities Law. He is the 2012 Distinguished Professor of Law awarded by the UC Hastings Business Law Journal.

Professor Lambert maintains contacts with practicing lawyers and serves as a consultant and expert witness to lawyers and law firms on securities and business law matters. Professor Lambert was a Visiting Professor at University of Michigan Law School and Duke University Law School in 1990-1993, and Leiden University in 2007.
