Biography
GABRIEL CRENSHAW, also known as Dr. Gabe, is a psychologist and on-air television and radio personality who was touted as America's Best Lifechanger while serving a two-year stint on the TV show "Extra." He is the creator and host of his own digital media program, “Mental Minute w/ Dr. Gabe,” and a contributing expert on various news broadcasts. Crenshaw has appeared on "The Doctors," CNN/HLN’s "Jane Velez Mitchell," "The Ricki Lake Show," Jamie Foxx's "Foxxhole" Radio and the United Kingdom’s "Lawrence Styles Show."
He also has been quoted in various print and digital media, including International Business Times, USA Today, thedoctorstv.com, TVNewsCheck.com, Extratv.com, Star Magazine, Orange County Register and Canada's Cottage North Magazine, among others.
A gifted clinician and educator, Crenshaw's contributions have been honored by a number of establishments, including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles/Keck School of Medicine of USC for his work on psycho-social factors associated with spina bifida patients, California State Legislature for Students Against Drug Abuse, and the Cancer Support Group Ohio chapter.
Crenshaw currently serves on the board of directors for the American Red Cross Los Angeles Santa Monica chapter and also as mentor to the Sons of Abraham, a Los Angeles faith-based boys group.
He pursued undergraduate studies on a full-ride academic scholarship to the University of Cincinnati while working as a musician and relocated to Los Angeles to work with gospel great Andrae Crouch, garnering a songwriting contract with Epic records. Crenshaw later chose to pursue master's and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology. He is a highly sought-after expert, speaker and author, who currently lectures on neuroscience at USC and presents at forums all over the world.
