Biography
Genia Young is a Board Certified Art Therapist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She is also an Art Therapy Credentialed Supervisor. She holds Master’s degrees in Marital and Family Therapy Specializing in Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University and in Developmental and Educational Psychology from Boston College. Genia has been an art therapy supervisor for first and second year graduate students and a member of the department's Active Explorations Committee. She also provides clinical art therapy services and art therapy supervision in both her private practice and through the Helen B. Landgarten Clinic at LMU. In addtion to her private practice, she facilitates art therapy groups for an intensive outpatent program. She previously worked with children and families impacted by trauma as a counselor and clinical supervisor for Cedars-Sinai’s schooled-based program. Genia currently sits on the Board of Diirectors for the Southern California Art Therapy Association (2018-2021). She is currently Program Director for the Department.
