Biography
George Szekely is the Principal of Evinco Consulting, a firm that provides business development, management consulting and executive coaching services in a cross-cultural business context.
George is an experienced executive with multicultural background and a successful track record in high technology businesses. Through his career he has worked with people from over 30 nations and lived on three continents. George has built and led culturally diverse organizations, and always kept in the forefront that as a leader and manager he is only as good as the people who work for him. For this reason he did a lot of formal and informal coaching and mentoring, both in the US and in Asia. George is a results oriented creative problem-solver with commitment to improving the status quo, who functions effectively even in ambiguous situations when answers or guidelines are not obvious. He comfortably adapts and excels with change, builds consensus amongst teams and individuals, while being assertive to reach goals.
From May 2009 to September 2010, Mr. Szekely served as the Director, Strategic Business Development at TE Connectivity (formerly Tyco Electronics) where he developed initiatives and global models to increase connector sales by use of application tooling. From 2006 to 2009 he served as a Business Unit Director, Asia-Pacific, at TE in Shanghai, where he managed TE's application tooling business for the region. As General Manager of the Tyco Electronics Automation Group, from 2001 to 2006, with offices in Willow Grove, PA and High Wycombe, England, George established a global printed circuit board assembly equipment business by integrating several acquisitions in the US and in the UK.
Mr. Szekely’s functional expertise includes global M&A integration, strategic planning, product portfolio management, product development and life cycle management, product marketing, and sales channel management. His industry expertise includes the connector industry, AMP, Tyco Electronics, application tooling, electronics assembly and automation, and printed circuit board assembly.
