Biography

Hans van Oostrom is the interim director of the AI² (AI Academic Initiative) Center, where he leads efforts to integrate AI across academic programs and disciplines. He has helped establish undergraduate and graduate programs in biomedical engineering and served as the founding chair of the department of engineering education. Through the AI² Center, he oversees faculty development, student learning opportunities and AI microcredentials to embed AI competencies across the curriculum. He holds master’s and PhD degrees in engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands.
