Biography

Heather Ogden is the assistant vice president/dean of students at Southern Utah University. Ogden assists in the oversight, leadership, management, and administration of numerous areas housed within Student Affairs at the University. She has spent 11+ years at SUU working with others and growing positive relationships across campus, and her priority as dean of students is advocating for students' needs.

Before her role as AVP/dean of students, Ogden served SUU in other capacities, most recently as director of ethics and compliance in the University's Title IX Office. She also previously served as a faculty member for the College of Education and Human Development and as lead advisor.

Prior to working at SUU, she was a guidance counselor in two Utah school districts and an administrator with the Utah Division of Child and Family Services.

Ogden earned a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Utah State University.

The Dean of Students Office at Southern Utah University provides solutions, services, and support to help students navigate the university setting. The Office serves as a student support network by focusing on students’ educational, social, and personal development; we promote academic success and student retention.The Office also provides advocacy, problem resolution, and critical incident intervention when additional assistance is needed, including conduct issues on our campus.
