Biography
She has published on SF&W, indicators, fragile states, complexity and genocide. Her current research interests focus on the future of the modern nation-state including the rise of new opposition movements and on developing a dynamic network-based methodology for actionable SF&W analysis.
Prior to that, she served as an analyst in International Relations (Eastern Asia and Globalisation) for the European Commission, created and headed in Phnom-Penh the Cambodian branch of a NGO in the field of Development during and after the UN peace-building mission and worked in finance.
She holds a PhD in Political Science and a MSc in International Politics of Asia (distinction) from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and a Master in Finance (Grande Ecole, France - valedictorian).

The world has become increasingly unpredictable, volatile and complex, and thus marred with surprises, from 09/11 to the Arab Spring, Occupy and the Euro crisis. Actors have increasingly been caught off-guard by crises. In this operating landscape, the ability to anticipate strategic surprises becomes highly valuable. This lecture will introduce the concepts and various tools for strategic foresight and warning, examine the practice of strategic anticipation and review challenges.
