Biography
Mr. Himadri Banerji is a graduate of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur 1972 and a post graduate in business management from
XLRI, Jamshedpur. He is also a PhD candidate having completed a doctoral level studies on strategic planning, operations research, systems analysis using dynamics for chemical & metallurgical process industries and electricity generation, transmission and distribution systems in India at IIT Kharagpur.
He is presently working as an International Expert with Ernst and Young LLP for a prestigious assignment for Capability Improvement in Project Management, Operations & Asset Management of Officers of Combined Cycle Plants with Advanced Class Gas Turbines for EGCB, (Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh).
Mr. Himadri Banerji, in his career spanning over 40 years, starting with TATA STEEL in India
and lastly worked with Reliance Group as CEO Reliance Energy, the largest private investor owned company in the Power Sector, has led action in planning, building and managing high value new and existing infrastructure in steel, refineries, petrochemical complexes, chemical process industries, power generation sector in India. He has worked as a project consultant and trainer on flawless project delivery a Shell initiative for a LNG projec. He has over 30 years experience in operations, plant turnaround management, maintenance management, engineering, procurement & construction projects. he has held senior general and strategic management roles with top corporations of India like the Tata, RPG CESC, Torrent AEC, Reliance as well as with multinationals like Rolls Royce & presently with Ernst and Young, E&Y
Recognized by the project management institution PMI as a leader in project management practices, has been a trainer, mentor & a sought after speaker at many national and international conferences on Project Management, Project Risk Management, EPC Contracting, Asset Management, Plant Reliability and Plant Performance, Operating Excellence, Commissioning & Startup, Flawless Delivery etc.
He is the Owner and Managing Director of Eco Urja an Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Consulting firm, engaged in energy related consultancy services and also advises in matters of risk management, finance, investment, capital restructuring, project management and facility management services for power plants, steel and metal processing facilities, chemical complexes.

EPC Risk Management
Will allow owners, EPC Contractors and the various parties involved the ability to understand key external and internal project risks that often delay their EPC projects and fail to meet deadlines or project budgets. It will also explore and evaluate various contracting styles that are being used to respond appropriately to the current market trends and identify the type of contract that best suits a particular EPC project, i.e. mega or small capital expenditure project. Furthermore, it will address areas on how the relevant parties can protect themselves from greater liability while strengthening the working relationships between owners, contractors and suppliers to minimise disputes, reduce risk, costs while retaining quality.
