Biography

Ian Chodikoff is Director of Fora Strategic Planning in Toronto. He is an architect and urban designer with an extensive knowledge of the health and prosperity of cities and communities. As the former Editor of Canadian Architect magazine, he has developed a leadership role in understanding of the value of design and the capacities that architects can offer clients at all levels of complexity, in both the public and private sectors. With a background in political science and public administration, Ian has managed many design-related research projects ranging from the effects of urban parks on the health of cities to cultural diversity affecting sustainable urban development. His research on linking the influences of health and multiculturalism to social inclusion and economic development are being applied through his work with the goal of improving dynamic social networks in urban environments. He has taught and lectured in various universities and cities around the world in addition to serving on numerous design juries. Ian Chodikoff is a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of British Columbia, and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University.
