Biography

Dr. Jack Troutt is an Associate Professor of Aviation Science at Utah Valley University, where he has taught since 2018. He also serves in a leadership role within the Aviation Science Department. His teaching and research focus on aviation operations, aviation law, airline dispatch, aviation ethics, and aviation safety. His recent scholarship has examined fuel conservation in commercial aviation, student engagement in aviation education, and emergency management applications of aviation. He is the author of Aviation Tools for Emergency Management and Homeland Security: Types, Functions, and the Future of Aviation for Emergency and Disaster Response (CRC Press, 2023). Before joining UVU, Troutt worked in the airline industry in operations training and aviation management. He holds a B.S. in Aviation Management, an M.S., and an Ed.D. in Aviation Sciences, all from Oklahoma State University.
