Biography
Jan Welborn-Nichols was born in Peculiar, Missouri. Now that she lives in Bloomington Illinois she is near to Normal, the town next door. Jan was a chubby kid who survived a trying adolescence of bad skin, ugly glasses, and plus-size clothes. She has been an opera singer, a cubicle drudge and is a black belt in the Japanese martial art of AikiBukido. Jan is the entrepreneur owner of Market Arts Creative, a business-to-business content strategy firm, is the author of the children’s book, Henrietta Sharp and the Magic Lunch Box and a believer in healthy eating, the real source of all super powers.

Your Story is the Marketing Strategy
I never thought that growing up chubby would inspire me to write a book and launch a new business. But it did. In this talk, I reveal how I crafted my own life story into the marketing strategy that drives my business. Using the story structure of three acts and five main points, I'll demonstrate how narrative is a powerful tool for marketing a business and living a life with authenticity and joy.
