Biography
Jen Roberts is the co-author of Power Up: making the Shift to 1:1 Teaching and Learning with Diana Neebe. She is also a high school English teacher, a Google for Education Certified Innovator (formerly GCT) and the Digital Lead Teacher at Point Loma High School in San Diego. A popular educational technology presenter at CUE conferences, both locally and statewide, usually around topics related to integrating technology into her English classroom. She is also adjunct faculty at the University of San Diego where she teaches pre-service teachers and an online masters course about digital writing. Her interests are literacy and educational technology as practically applied daily in her freshmen English classes. She has been teaching with 1:1 laptops for her students since 2008. Her teaching team has been using the Common Core Standards for all of their curriculum writing since 2011. Jen is an innovative educator who brings a passion for student success to every talk whether the focus is literacy, technology or both.

Jen was recognized locally when the San Diego Computer-Using Educators and the Classrooms of the Future Foundation awarded her their Innovative Educator Award in 2013.

Jen attended the Google Teacher Academy in Seattle in July 2011. Since becoming a GCT Jen has been an active member of the GCT community, contributing on line and presenting with fellow GCTs at national and local conferences.

Along with Diana Neebe, Jen has co-authored a professional development book for teachers new to 1:1 learning in their classrooms. With a range of curricular examples from 6-12th grade, Power Up is a great resource for teachers transforming the way they teach and students learn.
