Biography

Jian Kang is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and an affiliate of the Goergen Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Rochester. He joined the university in 2023 upon receiving his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.

His research focuses on data mining and machine learning, trustworthy artificial intelligence, and computational social science with an eye toward social good. His research has been published at several major conferences and journals in data mining and artificial intelligence.
