Jim Woods is a student and teacher of innovation and competitive advantage, how organizations attain superior performance, and how they constantly reinvent advantages to propel growth in times of stress. Jim is an author and speaker on strategic innovation, disruption, competitive advanatage and leadership.
He has worked with government, U.S. Army, MITRE Corporation, Pitney Bowes, Whirlpool, and 3M. Jim’s business experiences, extensive research on competitive strategy and innovation have given him a fresh perspective on improving individual and organizational performance.
Driven by a relentless curiosity, Jim began his research and teaching on the faculty at Dickinson State University and recently at Colorado Technical University. Jim holds a MS Organizational Development and Human Resources and a BS – Business Management and Leadership.
Jim began consulting over 25 years ago with a radical way of viewing management innovation. He believes we are facing not a competitive world but a hypercompetitive world demanding a reinvention of business in the new unconventional normal.
He is single. In addition, Jim is an avid runner and hiker.
