J. Mark Hattendorf, CPA, MBA is a senior business executive with extensive experience having served with multiple name recognized entities and business leaders.
a. Certified Public Accountant – Entered workforce following graduation working with major international accounting firm-earned CPA certificate. Currently have an active license status in California.
b. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Reporting typically to either CEO or Board of Directors. Experienced with for both private and public companies operating primarily in three industries (entertainment, technology, life sciences). Technically conversant with all major disciplines required at the CFO level, including acquisitions and divestitures, SEC reporting, international expansion, financing, corporate restructuring, etc.
c. Chief Operating Officer (COO) and/or CFO – Engaged most recently with private earlier stage startup companies involving technology spinouts from UCSD School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at University of California at San Diego and Geffen School of Medicine at University of California at Los Angeles (both companies achieved various rounds of equity financing as well as qualifying for government grants from agencies such as NIH, NSF, National Cancer Institute as well as enjoying rapid growth and expanded product development).

a. Independent board member and audit committee chair-public companies – Have served with 2 public companies requiring corporate governance and financial expertise.
b. Non-profit board member – Have served in a number of board level leadership roles (Los Angles Children Museum) and Vice Chair of Calif. State University Foundation Board, and selected committees at LMU (including Board of Regents).

LMU Part Time Faculty-Business College Senior Lecturer (2015 to present)
a. Have taught at the executive MBA level (financial accounting and management accounting modules), and undergraduate level (Introduction to Accounting).
b. Currently teaching Entrepreneurial Finance courses in the undergraduate Entrepreneur Program and Financial Concepts in the Business Minor Program.
