Biography

John Furneaux is the founder, chief ideator and creative and strategic quarterback at Projektor. John takes a hands-on approach to every project, and works directly with clients to understand their needs and deliver insightful solutions. His contribution to both strategic and creative processes creates distinctive visual and verbal communications that forge emotional, engaging connections with audiences.

For over 20 years, John has worked closely with organizations of all sizes – from entrepreneurial start-ups to global leaders. His experience spans a broad range of brand image and identity programs, as well as the communications and marketing initiatives that bring brands to life.

Prior to founding Projektor, John held executive positions at a number of Canada’s premier design consultancies including Ove Brand|Design, Identica and karacters Design Group. He is an award-winning, globally recognized designer who remains actively involved in the advancement of Canada’s design industry. He is a contributor to George Brown College’s Institute Without Borders and Design Management program and the Past President of the Association of Graphic Designers of Ontario (RGD Ontario), and is an active speaker and contributor in the Canadian design industry.

I was first elected to the Board Directors of the Association of Registered Designers of Ontario in 2003 and was privileged to served as first as President and then as Past President from 2005 until 2008. RGD Ontario represents more than 3,000 graphic designers, managers, educators and students across Ontario and a leading proponent on communicating the value of design to a wide range of audiences.
