Biography

Jonathan Lear is Head of North America for Earthport which is a regulated global financial services organisation specialising in cross-border payments.

Earthport provides a cost-effective and transparent service for secure international payments, servicing banks; money transfer organisations; payment aggregators; and e-commerce businesses.

Earthport delivers a “global ACH” capability using an innovative payments framework specifically designed for high volumes of low value cross- border payments. This provides our clients with access to local clearing schemes in over 55 countries.

Jonathan is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy and execution of Earthport’s expansion plans in North America and establishing and nurturing relationships with our major global customers and partners.

He moved from the UK to the US to establish Earthport’s first overseas subsidiary in New York City in 2007. This followed a successful seven year career with Procter and Gamble in their Global Brand Management function helping drive strategy; P&L and consumer marketing in their paper and food/beverage global business units (including latterly out of the European HQ in Geneva, Switzerland).

At Earthport, Jonathan and his team have originated, contracted and delivered services agreements with some of the worlds largest financial institutions; FinTech providers; Money Transfer Operators and global technology providers. Jonathan recently served on the 2013 NACHA Payments planning committee. Jonathan was also recently elected to the NACHA Global Payments Forum as a committee member.

He holds a B.Sc. in Business and Economics.
