Biography
Joseph Kevin McLaughlin, Ph.D., has had a distinguished career in the field of epidemiology. He has published over 500 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has served on the editorial boards of publications such as the American Journal of Epidemiology, the American Journal of Industrial Medicine, and the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
Early in his career, Joseph Kevin McLaughlin gained leadership experience as the director of research and evaluation at the Northwest Community Mental Health Center and as a senior staff fellow with the National Cancer Institute. He went on to found the International Epidemiology Institute in 1994, where he currently serves as president. In academia, he teaches as an adjunct professor of epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health and as a professor of medicine at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
Joseph McLaughlin graduated summa cum laude with his bachelor of arts from West Chester State College. He went on to complete a master of science in environmental health, a master of public health, and a Ph.D. in epidemiology at the University of Minnesota. He currently resides in Rockville, Maryland.
