Biography

J.T. Walker is a director, writer and teacher living in Los Angeles. His short film “PASSENGERS” screened at over 30 film festivals in the U.S. and abroad, among them Sundance, Telluride, Karlovy Vary, and AFI/Los Angeles, and won prizes in Deauville and elsewhere. It was broadcast on the IFC in the U.S. and on various international channels in Europe and Asia.

J.T.’s previous short, “OLDTIMERS,” won the Special Jury Prize at the San Francisco Int’l Film Festival, “Best Short Documentary” at the Krakow Int’l Film Festival, and screened at numerous other festivals both in the U.S. and abroad. It also aired on local PBS stations on the West Coast.

J.T. has also shot short documentary pieces for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and produced a documentary on the relief organization Sierra Madre Alliance, working with the Tarahumara Indians in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico.

As a screenwriter, J.T. adapted Joey Pantoliano’s best-selling memoir “Who’s Sorry Now,” for Holedigger Films, and Kevin Canty’s first novel, “Into the Great Wide Open,” for Tiny Dancer Films. He received his MFA from Columbia University in New York, and has taught directing, screenwriting and producing at Columbia University, Hunter College, Loyola-Marymount University, and Emerson College. Todd is a native of Austin, Texas.
