Josh Sanders, CISSP, MIS

With 20 years of experience in various technology and cybersecurity leadership roles, Josh is dedicated to fostering the next generation of cybersecurity professionals as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). Within the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, he contributes to the Cybersecurity minor program, sharing his real-world experience and knowledge with his students. In addition to his role at MSOE, Josh is a Vice President of Information Systems at Heartland Advisors, where he is passionate about safeguarding his organization and their stakeholders from cybersecurity threats.

Josh also plays an active role in the cybersecurity community as a member of the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association. His involvement extends to being an active member of FBI InfraGard and the Wisconsin Cyber Threat Response Alliance, where he collaborates with professionals across government, private sector, and higher education to share knowledge, cyber intelligence, and resources.

Josh holds a Bachelor's degree in IT Security, a Master's degree in Information Systems, and is CISSP and Security+ certified. When Josh is not safeguarding digital landscapes or shaping future cybersecurity experts, he treasures spending time with his wife and young son. He is also an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys working on ham radio and software-defined radio projects, blending his technical expertise with his personal interests.
