Biography

Kahea Kamahele is a native-born Hawaiian of mixed ancestry. After moving to Southern California in 1985, she began intense training in hula under Kumu Hula Rolanda Reese. Kahea has taught hula to the UCLA Hawai‘i Club for 10 years, assisted with the Dance of Hawai’i class at Loyola Marymount University and established her own hula school in 2007 where she serves as the dance company’s director and choreographer. Kahea continues to perpetuate the Hawaiian culture by participating in non-profit performances and concerts throughout Southern California. Kahea has earned her MA in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University and is a Certified Essential Life Coach.
