Biography
Karen Christensen is an expert on the relationship between sustainability and community. She was senior editor of the award-winning Encyclopedia of Community and is the author of a number of popular environmental books, including The Armchair Environmentalist, translated into ten languages. After college she worked in academic and literary publishing in the United Kingdom, and returned to the United States in 1992. She runs a media company focused on China and global learning.
