Biography

Dr. Huchting is a tenured full professor in the School of Education at Loyola Marymount University. Her research focuses on issues of equity and access, educational assessment, and evaluation. Dr. Huchting has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters focused on the preparation of educational leaders for social justice. She is a core faculty member in the Ed.D. Program for Educational Leadership for Social Justice and she teaches the research methods courses across the School the Education.

Dr. Huchting served as the Assistant Director of the HeadsUP! research laboratory in the psychology department from 2005-2007. She served as the Associate Director (2016 – 2020) and Co-Director (2020-2021) of the Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership for Social Justice in the School of Education. She served as the Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at LMU from 2021-2024. She has also served as an academic journal editor, chair of an American Educational Research Association (AERA) special interest group and is a Fulbright Scholar.
