Biography

I am currently a research fellow jointly appointed between the University of Toronto and the Institute for Mental Health Policy Research at CAMH.

I investigate developmental psychology, and my current research is conducted in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Prior to this, I conducted scientific studies of infant and child development at the McMaster Institute for Music and the Mind. I have also been a music educator for more than a decade, teaching early childhood music as well as private and group-based instrumental music.

I especially enjoy translating scientific research for a broader audience. My presentations to music educators, schoolteachers, parent groups, and the general public have been featured in the New York Times, on the CBC, through YouTube, and in print media.

I am always excited to hear from like-minded researchers, artists, and educators about consulting and collaboration opportunities! For up-to-date information on my publications, teaching, speaking, and outreach, please visit kateeinarson.ca
