Biography
Kate Eldridge, M.D., is Clinical Service Line Leader for Acute Medicine at ChristianaCare, Hugh R. Sharp, Jr., Chair of the
Department of Medicine and physician executive of the Acute Medicine Service Line. A board-certified internist, she leads work spanning hospital medicine, acute care delivery, clinical quality, medical education and departmental operations.
Eldridge began at ChristianaCare in 2011 as a staff hospitalist with ChristianaCare Hospitalist Partners and later served as the group's medical director, helping expand the hospitalist program. Her subsequent leadership roles have included clinical director of Acute Care, clinical director of Acute Medicine Services and vice chair of the Department of Medicine.
As clinical director of Population Health Partnerships, Eldridge led the design, implementation and evaluation of clinical initiatives focused on quality, patient experience and total cost of care. Her work connects physician leadership with care delivery improvement across hospital and population health settings.
Eldridge earned her medical degree from Sydney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed internal medicine residency and chief residency at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She also earned a Master of Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business and received the Delaware Chapter of the American College of Physicians' Hospitalist Award in 2016.
