Biography

Kathleen Avena Blanco earned her Ed.D. in Educational Psychology from La Sierra University. She earned her M.S. in Counseling with options in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and School Based Family Counseling from California State University, Los Angeles, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and holds a P.P.S. credential in School Counseling as well as a Child Welfare and Attendance (CWA) credential. For nearly 20 years, Dr. Blanco has provided clinical, community-based, and school-based services to youth and adults. She has served schools within the field of special education as well as counseling/mental health. As faculty and a director, she is committed to the comprehensive education and training for potential school-based counseling/mental health professionals. She also seeks to develop and sustain partnerships with entities to increase positive school climate, attendance, and resilience for youth.
